The Steven Holl proposal aimed to continue Manhattan´s 72nd Street into the Hudson River and was one  of the first projects where the architect researched abou the possibilities of the threedimensionality that skycrapers can achieve. First, the super slender towers create a new urban space that is framed over the river. Moreover, Steven Holl places several public programs in the horizontal bars suspended between the towers raising the public space. The diagramatic concept of Parallax will be repeated two decades later in Beijing with the Linked Hibrid building, although part of original plasticity of the project was lost.
