The small pavilion designed by Zaha Hadid is one of the most unknown projects of the architect and likely her first built design. Although it is not even shown in the website of the architect, the project was included in the monograph that the magazine El Croquis published about Zaha´s work in 1995.

The pavilion was one of the first projects that were built for the event “What a Wonderful World! Music video´s in Architecture” that was performed during the summer of 1990 in the city of Groningen. The other architects that participated were Bernard Tschumi, Peter Eisenman, Rem Koolhaas and Coop Himmelblau. The built was located between two historical buildings in a narrow plot and it is structured through a single open stair that creates a single circulation. This open circulation overlapped the visitors of the pavilion with visual images that were projected from the upper platforms over the glass facade and the floor. The end of the route ended into a small auditorium that provoked the optical illusion of being floating.

In 2007, the building was dismantled and rebuilt in the Dutch city of Appingedam.
