The ‘High Houses” are designed by Lebbeus Woods after the Bosnia war and the Siege of Sarajevo. They have a dual relation with the site: located on the places that had been destroyed by the war bombs, the houses are raised with a steel cables system in a complex equilibrium in order to dominate the aerial landscape of the city. The ´High Houses´ have a contradictory symbolism because they attempt to look at the future in an utopian form, whereas they maintain a relation with the history of the city.
